P2P for Small Squares 
This page shows a large collection of patterns that can be set into squares,
using the Point to Point function. These will probably work best
in blocks 2" - 6" in size, but as always, experiment to see what looks right to you.

I've made samples to show how patterns look when clicked straight across,
​if blocks are on point, or clicked on the diagonal, when blocks are set square. Study them closely to see where the clicking points are and how it changes the overall look.

P2P Anitque Hearts

Clicking an asymmetrical pattern in a zig zag path creates movement and
additional secondary designs where the pattern mirrors itself across a seam line.

Stitching the P2P Diamond in white thread on blue fabric
​gives this piece the look of Sashiko stitching.

Double Stars, clicked in the zig zag path leaves open spaces in between.
I see this as a design opportunity, where you can drop another pattern in between,
perhaps in a second thread color.

This example shows how the size of a Point to Point pattern will change with
Freeze Aspect on, when clicked through large and small spaces.
Point to Point with Freeze Aspect on will keep patterns the same shape.
Short clicks fill the small blocks, but a longer clicking length enlarges the pattern in both width and height to fill the larger center block.

Asymmetrical patterns have a lot of movement when clicked on the diagonal.

Oval Spiral is another pattern, when clicked in the zig zag path leaves open spaces in between. Diamonds looked good to me here as a second pattern choice.
